Your safety is our priority. Please read this page carefully before ordering if you or your guests have any food allergies or intolerances.

Important Notice

All our cakes are made in a kitchen that handles the following allergens: gluten (wheat), milk and dairy products, eggs, nuts (including peanuts and tree nuts), soya, and sulphites. There is a risk of cross-contamination for all products we make, even where an allergen is not listed as an ingredient.

We are a small home/studio bakery and cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free product. If you have a severe or life-threatening allergy, we strongly advise you not to order.

The 14 Major Allergens

Under UK food law (Food Information Regulations 2014), we are required to declare the following allergens if present in our products:

  1. Cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats) — present in all our standard sponge recipes.
  2. Crustaceans — not used.
  3. Eggs — present in all our standard sponge and buttercream recipes.
  4. Fish — not used.
  5. Peanuts — handled in our kitchen. May be present as a flavour option.
  6. Soybeans — present in some chocolate and flavourings.
  7. Milk — present in all buttercream and cream cheese fillings.
  8. Tree nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios, etc.) — present in some flavour options. Cross-contamination risk across all products.
  9. Celery — not used.
  10. Mustard — not used.
  11. Sesame seeds — may be present in some decorative elements.
  12. Sulphur dioxide / sulphites — present in some food colourings and flavourings.
  13. Lupin — not typically used, but present in some flour blends.
  14. Molluscs — not used.

Requesting Allergen Adaptations

We can sometimes adapt recipes to exclude specific allergens (for example, using a gluten-free flour blend, or a dairy-free buttercream). Please mention your requirements in the order notes at the time of ordering — do not wait until collection or delivery.

Please note that even adapted recipes carry a cross-contamination risk as they are produced in the same kitchen and with shared equipment.
